Personal Statement

Tim seeks to honor Christ first as a husband and father to 10 adopted children, and son to aging parents. With over 25 years experience working with teens to older adults from all faith/no faith, culturally diverse backgrounds he loves to serve with clinical, person-centered excellence that maximizes client autonomy.
He utilizes a Transference Focused Therapy approach to surface clinical issues and conflicts and then partners with clients to develop coping and distress tolerance skills using Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy strategies. Tim notes that the emergence of conflict in the counseling relationship is when the work really begins and that relational skills and attachment to a community are crucial to healing.
With the massive expansion of on-line and casino gaming nationally, he is also developing knowledge and skills needed to serve persons with gambling disorders.
