Insurance & Financial Information

We understand that therapy is a significant investment of time, emotional energy, and financial resources. At Schug Counseling Services we aim to be clear and transparent about rates and billing so that you are never surprised by a bill (because what good is therapy if it adds more stress?).

 

Our session rates are listed below:

 

Intake Session for Individual Therapy: $175.00

Individual Therapy Session:  $155.00

Premarital Counseling Session: $90.00

Pastoral Counseling: $80.00

A sliding scale for fees is available based on ability to pay.

Cancellation Policy

Your agreed upon appointment time is reserved for you weekly or biweekly. As such, we ask for a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancellation otherwise you may be charged a late cancellation fee of $80.00. A no show appointment (missing your appointment without notifying your counselor) will be charged at the full cost of session. If you are more than 10 minutes late for your scheduled appointment time this is considered a missed appointment. If you are using insurance it is important to note that your insurance company will not cover late cancel or no show fees.

We are In-Network with the following insurance companies:

• Blue Cross Blue Shield (note: we are not in network with Blue Care Network)

• Priority Health (including medicaid)

• Optum Behavioral Health

• United Health Care 

• HealthSmart Behavioral Solutions

• Cigna 

• Evernorth

• Medicaid

Please verify your benefits with your individual plan as coverage varies and some major insurances subcontract mental/behavioral health to a different insurance provider.

If you do not see your insurance on this list, you may have out of network benefits that you are able to use. What this means is that you would pay for your therapy up front but would be provided a receipt called a Superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. To help you find out if you have out of network benefits you may follow this guide to make sure you ask your insurance company the right questions!

 

PLEASE NOTE - Premarital and Pastoral Counseling are not covered by insurance.

 

Payment can be made by cash, check, HSA card or credit/debit card.

All clients will be asked to have a current credit card on file to be charged in case of a no show appointment or late cancellation.
